What is a Progress Bar?

A progress bar is a horizontal graphic that indicates the progress an operation. The graphic represents a percentage value.

Example

The following table shows the percent completion values for three projects. When a project hits 100%, it means the project is complete.

Projects Value
Project 1 73%
Project 2 67%
Project 3 89%

Adding a Progress Bar

In this example, adding a progress bar helps viewers better visualize the percentage of work which has been completed and the proportion of work that needs to be done before the project can be 100% completed.
